North Hill Residential Care Home

North Hill Care Home is located at 2, North Hill Road, Southey Green, Sheffield, S5 8DS. Southey is a former village, now a district and residential area in the northeast part of Sheffield. 


We are registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide residential and special care for adults from the age of 65 years with dementia, physical disabilities and sensory impairment. 


At North Hill our aim is to provide person centred care for our residents in a respectful, dignified and supportive manner. We offer a comfortable and friendly atmosphere and each resident receives a high standard of physical, mental, emotional and social care whilst with us.

Location

North Hill is situated in the North of the city on North Hill road, tucked in a quiet and pleasant residential area. Southey Green itself is within easy access to the city’s major Hospital Northern General, Sheffield. The home has its own surgery and medication is supplied by Bio Med Pharmacy. There are local churches, a post office and large shopping outlets like Meadow Hall within minutes of the Home, accessible by public transport. Public and private transport services are available to residents who wish to go out locally.

Management

North Hill is a family run business. It is owned by a caring couple with over 30 years’ experience running homes in the UK. 


Anneka Hardowar is the Registered Manager. She has an Accountancy background and relevant experience servicing Care Homes. She enjoys a very hands-on approach to work. She is in the Home full-time, supporting her team to provide the best care which she finds rewarding. She enjoys meeting families and dealing with stakeholders personally.

Staff

Our operational team is a happy, professional force of individuals made up of senior carers, care assistants, cooks, housekeepers, maintenance, an activities co-ordinator, finance and an outsourced admin / HR personnel. 


Most of our care staff live locally and are often already acquainted with the families of Residents. Our policy is to safeguard the health and safety of service users and staff as a priority.


The Home operates a selective recruitment policy. It is important to us that all our staff members are personally committed to the Residents’ well - being as well as their own learning and development. Each member receives an in-depth induction before starting. Most of them have received training in first aid, basic hygiene, moving & handling as well as various other specialist courses. Over 60% of our staff have achieved a Level 2 National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) and Health Diploma in Social Care training. This is an ongoing offering for staff who aspire further development.
